A native of China, Dr. Helen Wang immigrated to the United States in 1993 and found a home in the beautiful Bay Area. She grew up in a Traditional Chinese Medicine family and learned early on the power of taking a holistic approach to health and wellness. Dr. Helen received her Doctorate from Palmer Chiropractic College West, and later her certification as a Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP). She has continued her education with extensive training in innovative techniques and bodywork methods, including Graston, Active Release Technique, Rock Tape, and Ergonomic Evaluation.
Along with her passionate team of healthcare professionals, Dr. Helen is committed to creating a path to wellness for each patient so that they’re never solely reliant on her office treatments to feel better. While alleviating pain is always her top priority, so too is understanding and resolving underlying issues so that injuries don’t recur. Because of her extensive training and experience, Dr. Helen can help her clients live pain-free lives while increasing range of motion and strengthening their bodies through the application of multiple modalities, including:

Dr. Helen has worked with Thriving Chiropractic since 2007 and looks forward to serving the Mountain View community for years to come. She has received numerous awards over the last ten years, including Talk of The Town, The Best of Mountain View, and The 2017 Women of Distinction List. Dr. Helen is a former high school runner and avid athlete. When she isn’t helping patients, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family biking, hiking, and snowboarding.
Dr. Lin Ying (Linda) Wang’s profound depth of knowledge and experience in both Eastern and Western medicine allows her to work with patients using a combination of therapies to achieve maximum results. A graduate of the Guangzhou Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Linda is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese and brings more than thirty years of experience treating acute and chronic conditions to Thriving Chiropractic. While she specializes in the treatment of stress/anxiety, sleep disturbances, and pain management, Dr. Linda sees patients with a variety of complaints. She allows their specific condition to drive her approach to care. Depending on the initial problem, she may use acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, herbal supplementation, or make recommendations for additional testing or Western treatments when necessary.
Dr. Yumi Okuwaki D.C. grew up in Japan and moved to the United States to study chiropractic. She received her doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West and completed over 100 hours of pediatric chiropractic coursework. She is fluent in both English and Japanese and is a certified Applied Kinesiology provider and a Certified Ergonomic Assessment specialist. Her mission is to relieve people of body tension and misalignment so that they can improve overall health and wellbeing. Patients who come to our practice with fears or misconceptions about chiropractic love working with Dr. Yumi because of her gentle approach. In addition to providing hands-on treatment, Dr. Yumi encourages patients to investigate the role that nutrition can play in speeding healing and achieving improved wellness. A passionate advocate for natural health, Dr. Yumi is currently in the process of receiving her certification in Applied Clinical Nutrition. She is the mother of a beautiful daughter and enjoys swimming and yoga in her free time.
Dr. Deanna Mendelsohn is a Doctor of Chiropractic passionate about serving the community and helping patients of all ages work towards their health goals. She specializes in a holistic treatment approach to improve movement and quality of life using drug-free pain relief techniques.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, she showed a strong interest in the medical field at an early age when she received her first anatomy book at the age of five. Her lifelong dedication to the field led her to study chiropractic at Southern California University of Health Sciences, where she graduated with a Doctorate in Chiropractic with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. She was also the recipient of the E. Maylon Drake Humanitarian Award for her work organizing chiropractic healthcare in low income communities.
During college, Dr. Deanna proudly volunteered as medical staff at local sporting events such as AIDS life cycle and several National Collegiate Powerlifting competitions. She also provided sideline chiropractic care and helped athletes on the Cal State Long Beach volleyball and track and field teams recover from injuries.
In addition to her volunteer work, Dr. Deanna worked as a Chiropractic assistant for five years during college and interned at several clinics including the University of California Irvine and the SCUHS Health Centers, the Orange County Rescue Mission, the SCUHS Sports Medicine Department, as well as several private practices.
As an active member of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, the American Chiropractic Association, and the California and Alameda County Health Corps, Dr. Deanna is committed to ongoing studies and a lifetime of learning.

Jon Huang graduated from Five branches university, Graduate School of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a Doctorate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He received certification from California Acupuncture Board to practice acupuncture and other oriental therapeutic treatments such as Acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and herbs.
He started his career in Finance and banking. Like many others whose work involves day long sitting, he had experience with stiff neck, aching shoulders, and lower back pain, poor digestion and sleep quality first hand. Applying what he learned to self healing became the cornerstone of his natural healing journey.
He utilizes a combination of therapeutic treatments, electric acupuncture to relieve pain, and supplemental modalities such as hot stone massage, cupping, moxibustion, guasha, sound therapy and herb tea to help patients restore their quality of life. Common benefits and praises of his treatments are: patients experiencing a deep sense of relaxation and balance, radiant complexion, higher energy level, better appetite, improved quality of sleep, digestion, and the wonderful feeling of being truly cared for and healed.
